M.Sc NURSING

For Whom

Post Graduate nursing courses are for those students who are seriously into academics and research areas. Teaching positions like lecturers, associate professors, professors in various nursing colleges are filled up by PG students with suitable experience.

Senior level nursing related administrative positions in hospitals are usually reserved for students with good academic background coupled with experience. Depending on specializations some students can get opportunities in corporate and industrial sectors also.

Eligibility Criteria

B.Sc. nursing with a minimum of 50% marks and one year of work experience

Annual Intake

Wockhardt Institute of Nursing has got permission to take admissions into following specializations:

1. Medical Surgical Nursing : - 05
2. Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing: - 05
3. Community Health Nursing: - 05

25% of these seats (4 numbers) are reserved for Government selected candidates.

B.Sc. NURSING

For Whom
This is a degree level course for students who are serious about pursuing a rewarding career in nursing profession. This program apart from imparting knowledge and skills of nursing equips students with administrative and supervisory skills, thus preparing them for administrative positions in health care industry. As a degree level course it opens up better job prospects and promotion opportunities for nursing students.

A B.Sc nursing degree is a prerequisite for overseas assignments, admission to post graduate course and nursing programs in research, consulting, teaching, or a clinical specialization. As a BSc. Nursing graduate one has the greatest opportunity for advancement in the profession.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Candidate should be 17 years old minimum as of 31st December in the year of admission
2. Minimum 50% marks in science subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology with a pass in the qualifying examinations of

Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course)
Or
Senior School/Pre- Degree Examination (10+2)
Or
12 years of schooling equivalent from a recognised board or university

3. Candidate should be medically fit

Annual Intake
Wockhardt Institute of Nursing accepts a maximum of 50 candidates for this program. Out of this only 35 seats are available to open candidates and 15 seats are reserved for Government selected candidates.

Selection Criteria
Government selects nursing candidates through a competitive entrance test and seats are allotted based on merit list prepared by it

Wockhardt Institute of Nursing allots seats (35 numbers) based on the marks obtained in the above mentioned qualifying examination(s) and performance in the interview.

  • A student needs to pay Rs.2250/- (rupees two thousand two hundred and fifty only) per month towards hostel accommodation and dinning.
  • Cost of uniform will be as per actual. This is an annual expenditure.

General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) Course

For Whom
This is a diploma level course. Upon successful completion of this course KSNC will award the diploma to the students. This course prepares students for a well rounded exposure to nursing skills and profession.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Candidate should be between 17 and 35 years of age on the date of admission. There is no age restriction of ANM and LHV candidates.
2. A pass in 10+2. Candidates with science subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 50% marks in these subjects are, however, preferred to others.
3. Those who have passed 10+2 vocational ANM course from the schools recognized by INC are eligible to apply
4. Candidates should be medically fit

Annual Intake
A maximum of 50 students. 45 seats are for open candidates and 5 seats are reserved for Government selected candidates.

Selection Criteria
Government selects nursing candidates through a competitive entrance test and seats are allotted based on merit list prepared by it

Wockhardt Institute of Nursing allots seats (45 numbers) based on the marks obtained in the above mentioned qualifying examination(s) and performance in the interview.

Course Duration
Three years and six months including the internship period of six months
